Has a recent doctor's report shown you to be very anemic? Or….do you have a loved one with a blood disorder that may may require a blood transfusion? Your juicer may be just what you need to fix this problem!

Years ago, when I was weak and sick and in the fight of my life, I stumbled across an herbalist named Dr. Richard Schulze. As I devoured every bit of information he had to offer, I learned about how to make blood building juices. He gave a long, detailed explanation about how anything deep red or purple helps build the red blood cells. Beets, red cabbage, red Russian kale, red chard - these are all vegetables that are extremely useful in making this powerful juice.

He related fascinating stories of people he had helped. For example, he knew a woman who had undergone surgery and the doctor had nicked an artery. She had lost a tremendous amount of blood, and the doctor wanted to do a transfusion.

'You're very anemic and your hemoglobin is at the lowest end for a woman.'

She called Dr. Schulze and asked if there was something he could do.

He brought fresh vegetable juices up to the hospital, and 24 hours later she was in the clear.

After reading this and other stories he had shared, I decided to give it a go. I also added garlic, jalapeno and dandelion green to my blood building juice. Dr. Christopher recommended dandelion green as both a blood builder and purifier. It can be rather bitter, but often the carrot conceals that bitterness.

Just a quick fyi...the bitters are great liver cleansers! Clean the liver on a regular basis, and you'll be doing yourself a tremendous favor.

My oldest son became my right hand juice man. He Absolutely loved the idea of making juices for me that were dark and scary looking! (He admits being kind of a brat.) Little did he know, that's exactly what I wanted! I had put my taste buds on the back burner, so to speak…taking in large amounts of garlic and bitter herbal tinctures in pursuit of regaining my health.

I felt life come back into my body! It was as if someone had shot energy right into my veins. Before long, I felt even better than before I was sick.

Little did I know it wouldn't be long before I'd be making these juices for other people in desperate straits. One was a woman who had leukemia and ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

She had undergone several blood transfusions that had proven ineffective. In the video I made with my son, we share her story along with another amazing tribute to the power of this type of juice to build the blood.

Although you can find the recipe for this juice at the end of the second video, I am going to include it here as well:

Blood Building Juice Recipe

  • 10-12 carrots
  • 1 beet with greens
  • 1/4 head of red cabbage
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 celery
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 leaves of kale
  • Handful of dandelion green (if available)
  • 2 leaves of red chard (if available)
  • 2 collard leaves (if available)

For a spicy juice, add jalapeno and fresh garlic cloves, to taste

For a sweeter juice, add 2 apples and 1 inch of fresh ginger.

If some of the above greens are not available, just do the best you can.

I don't give a yield, as it may vary slightly depending on which version you make. For example, 2 medium apples will increase the yield by about 8 oz. The spicy version will not change the yield. Also, availability of greens will make a difference.

'But what if I Absolutely cannot get this juice down?' you may ask.

Here's another suggestion.

If you take our recipe from the site, 'Can't Beet It' and add some dandelion green to it, you're already including many of the ingredients in this juice.

Then, as your second juice, you could do 'Dragon Blood' or 'Purple Power'.

Your third juice could be 'Full Immunity', adding more garlic and maybe some jalapeno to help circulate the juice through your blood.

I also like to add cayenne pepper to my juice for the added benefits. Dr. Christopher referred to cayenne pepper as 'food for the heart'. (See my article on cayenne pepper for even more great information!)

By the time you include all 3 of those juices in your daily routine, you would have most of the ingredients of the blood building juice - but with a little more pleasant overall flavor. If you added some of the greens mentioned, you could include it all!

Sometimes a person's condition can be so severe, it's not something that can be turned around in only 24 hours. I'm telling you this in case you get discouraged and think it doesn't work. Consistency is key. Natural healing is different than taking an aspirin. Often it takes time for the body to heal rather than just taking a pill to mask symptoms.

Dr. Schulze relates another story where a man with severe leukemia took 2 months before dramatic changes occurred in his blood counts. The third month was when the biggest changes were seen.

Beet greens are an added plus to your blood building juice! Some studies have shown the beet green to have 3 times more iron than the beet root itself.

'The beet and beet greens, added to carrot juice, is the one that I use with patients that have had a lot of blood loss due to surgical trauma, or from cancer, where the body won't build blood anymore.' - Dr. Richard Schulze

'When you start getting that beet and beet greens in, along with the carrot juice, you see a big change. Now if you want to build the blood, the extra juices to remember, the fruit ones, are the dark blue, red and purple -- that would be raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries or prunes, plums and cherries -- these are all the super blood builders.' (Excerpts from Dr. Schulze's Save Your Life manuals)

Dr. Christopher referred to the blood stream as 'The river of life.' Miles of veins, arteries and capillaries exist in each one of us. Tissue and cells in these veins need to be kept alive and vibrant. According to Dr. Christopher, cayenne pepper alone can be very effective in keeping these arteries and veins clean and strong.

This subject could be another article in and of itself! But something to think about are the veins that carry blood through our entire body. As a matter of fact, I think I'll make that an article for the future.

Let me know if you try this! Would love to hear your results. Our amazing body can bounce back in remarkable ways when we provide the raw materials it needs. Think I'm gonna go fire up my juicer! Talk to you soon! ~ Tracee
